| Bonnie Bowden
Bonnie Bowden has traveled the world singing with the Sergio Mendes band. She recently joined the Alumni where she quickly became comfortable with the band’s genre. Her favorite solos with the band are Deed I Do, We'll Be Together Again and I Just Found Out About Love. Versatile and melodic, her lilting lyric coloratura soprano has graced stages and media across the globe for over 25 years. Born in Bessemer, Alabama, Ms. Bowden began singing at the age of three, spending a Texas childhood performing in schools, churches, talent shows and beauty contests. Ms. Bowden began her professional singing career at Six Flags Over Texas. Moving to California, she landed a position at Disneyland and from there she joined Sergio Mendes. During her years with Sergio, she performed in concert halls, theatres, universities, hotels and music festivals throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, Asia and South America. Ms. Bowden’s vocal solos have been featured on 17 albums. Television credits include several appearances on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Steve Lawrence & Edie Gormé Specials, Dinah Shore and The Midnight Special. She has also appeared on television specials in Brazil, Mexico, Spain, Italy, London, Germany, Belgium and Japan. A multilingual performer, Ms. Bowden sings in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Latin and Portuguese. As an active soloist in the arts community, she was recently awarded the title of "Performer Of The Year-2006” by the Thousand Oaks Alliance for the Arts. |
